It's been a long time coming, but we've got a huge blog post that will knock your socks off!
For the past several months we've been bringing all of the conventions home to you, over the internet live for all of those who couldn't make it but still wanted to be a part of the action. Not only have we been streaming live coverage of conventions and events, we have been interviewing who YOU the viewer wanted us to interview, asked the questions that YOU wanted us to ask, and have gotten tons of swag for YOU the viewers back home!
Here is a look back at just what we have accomplished on UFragTV in the past few months.
It all started back on August 6th when we arrived at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center for Chicago for Comic-Con 2009. We had a lot of fun with pwndcast.com and talked to some really great people. VIP Day kicked off with a lot of cosplayers and their great costumes.
Once we were into Day One we were off and running! I mean where else but on UFragTV can you watch your hosts Shane and Kelly Kelley get a tattoo live on air at the convention center! Where else but on UFragTV would you get a live performance in our booth by Taylor Dayne and Blackbox!
Alfonso's interview with Doug Jones was one of the highlights of the event. Getting a "bosie" from Doug Jones is something we won't forget anytime soon.
The introduction of "The Butterfest" was very entertaining and he was inducted as an honorary crew member. We were sad to hear he was unable to come out for day 2.
Camden Toy is a great actor and our interview provided us with some great information on his projects.
Here are just some of the wonderful interviews that we had the chance to do:
- Lindsey Weber from Venom Energy Drinks
- Faith Felice from Gamers United
- Jiba Molei Anderson from Illinois Institute of Art
- Jack Killborn (novelist)
- Rob Weiman from Mountaincity Auctions
- The Smoke
- Michael Papajohn
- Froggy's Photo's
- Jake Busey
- Jim Gibbons Associate Editor of Wizard Magazine
- Eric Michael Murascak
- Mark Ombrellaro from TN Games
Once we finished with Comic-Con it was off to the Penny Arcade Expo on September 4-6, 2009 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. With the blimp up and Booth 121 set for action it was time to get going.
J.R. brought us some accidental yet exclusive information from the guys at Funcom.
Becky gave us a great BioShock 2 and Mafia 2 Booth tour which took us "inside the game".
We had a very entertaining interview by Alfonso with the guys at Mythic Entertainment Studios who provided us with some insight on the mentality of a Warhammer player.
Our interview with Chet Faliszek gave us some information on Valve's upcoming game Left 4 Dead 2.
And who can forget Rene the "Bag Lady"? I know a lot of our viewers won't forget her anytime soon!
There were a lot of amazing game developers and we got some great information on what's coming out and you, the viewers, were given the chance to ask the questions you wanted answered.
Here is the list of the great people we interviewed during PAX '09:
- Surrif (Producer on Dead Space Extraction)
- Patrick Fortier (Creative Director of WET)
- Rony Chammas (Product Manager of Dante's Inferno)
- Gunnar Optiks
- Halo ODST Bungie
- Tru Blood Drink
- Ken Chan (Marketing Specialist God of War 3)
- Amy Meyer (Community Manager Uncharted 2)
- Jefferson Doug (Marketing for Heavy Rain)
- David Bull (Marketing for MAG)
- Mark Valledor (Marketing for Little Big Planet)
- Keyr Shah (Marketing for Disney)
- Pandcake Productions
- Gordon VanDyke (Bad Company 2)
- Peregrin Glove
- Mega64
- Amy Brady and Anne Marie (Frag Dolls)
- GayGamer
- PC Lounge
- PMS Clan with special host "Rene" the bag lady
- Coin Op TV
As always there were some great cosplayers that added some whimsy to the event.
I know I won't forget the over 450 MAG codes we gave out during this event and all the great PAX Swag we gave away in various contests on the site.
With over 1000 viewers in attendance the event was a lot of fun!
We would like to also thank our gratious sponsors and booth buddies TN Games.
Our next adventure took us far from home towards Tokyo, Japan for the "Tokyo Game Show".
To say we were out of our comfort zone would be an understatement! It was quite the culture shock but we managed to get some great footage and had the chance to interview some really great people.
With Shane, Tim, Dan, Becky, and Arika in tow we were able to get a chance to talk to Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Avatar the game. Everyone there had a PSP, and I mean everyone. Gaming is a huge part of the culture in Japan, which was made obvious by the staggering attendance at TGS. The cosplayers at Tokyo Game Show were like nothing we've ever seen before. The detail in their wears was just amazing.
We know you've all been waiting for the footage and it will be up shortly so you can see all the amazing stuff we were able to capture while in Tokyo.
Shortly after the jet lag and time change we over we were off to the Pennsylvania Convention Center on October 9th for "VGXpo".
Our frequent friend The Smoke was very entertaining, as always, and provided us with some information on what VGXpo was all about.
We got a glimpse of the great products made by Shocker Toys. I know I want a Mallow so I can doodle all over it.
Seltzer from PMS Clan did a fantastic interview with Jamie Kovac "Fury" from American Galdiators where she flexed her muscles and let everyone on know whose boss.
We got a chance to check out some great products and interview some very interesting people:
- Clayton Price
- Zero Zelda Reorchestrated
- Ground Up Studios
- Nero "Air Asassin's"
- Dominick (president of Slappa)
As like all conventions we've been to the cosplayers were out in full force and was great to see.
Even before the dust had settled on VGXpo we we're on our way to Pier 94 in New York for Big Apple Comicon. Big Apple Comic Con was the craziest event the UFragTV staff has been to yet! We got a chance to talk to some great celebrities and hear about their past, present, and future projects.
Our interview with Brent Spiner is probably the most popular interview from Apple Con, the fans just love it! A little birdy told me that Brent liked taking a ride on Shane's Segway so it sounds like he had as much fun in New York as we did.
We got to talk to Thomas Jane AKA "The Punisher" and it had to be the funniest interview we've aired. He was taking pics of us the entire time we were interviewing him and having Chewbacca behind him just added to the overall craziness.
The NY Jedi were also a big eye catcher at Big Apple Comic Con, we met them once before at Chicago Comic Con and they were really fun to interview.
Day Two provided us with the chance to talk and get to know Billy Dee Williams, all the star wars fans gather in the back were there to get a chance to see the real Lando in person. He was such a cool person so laid back and smooth.
Ernie Hudson, the famous Ghostbusters actor, had the opportunity to answer a lot of interesting questions that were asked by you, the viewers.
Here is the list of the great people we had the opportunity to interview:
- Adam West
- David Hedison "Felix Leiter"
- The Smoke
