The Grand opening of the Play N Trade Six Corners

Today we were in Chicago at the grand opening of the nation's largest Play N Trade.

There to provide you with all the coverage was Tappedout, Marisha, Kona (SFX-360) , Kelly Kelley (vVv),and the man behind the camera Tim.

Day one of our two day coverage was a lot of fun. There was free food, a live DJ, great deals on lots of consoles and games, a MW2 tournament, and of course UFragtv was there to capture all the excitement.

The MW2 tournament was a no holds barred kids against adults scrimage. We saw brother against brother, with tempers flaring the younger of the two winning that round. Followed by older brother almost decking his sibling. We watched as Kona's eyes darted left and right as he screen watched and still managed to lose. Ryan from vVv Gaming went easy on this competitors by playing with the controller behind his back. Eventually he put the controller in front of him and ended winning the tournament. The prize being a Game Helmet. He was such a good sport that he gave his prize to the second place winner.

We took some time out from the live action at the store to sit down with the UFragtv developer John C Bland to answer view questions about the site release and what you can all look forward on the new site.

Keisha from Sugar Gamer was watching the feed at home and decided to stop on in to says hello. We got some time to sit and talk to her about her organization and was great to see that someone can be watching the cast and just get up and get down to the event to show their love.

Day Two we got the change to talk to the owner of the Play N Trade, Ernesto and he gave us some information on what this location is all about and what it takes to be the owner of a franchise store.

Marisha and Kona showed us some of the great stuff they are selling at the store and even gave the viewers the chance to purchase an Atari 2600, which will be signed by it's creator Nowland Bushnell. The first caller, Ross from SFX-360, got this amazing game console.

The store was also holding a blow out sale on the PSP Go for $199 and allowed viewers to call in and purchase these as well.

Today saw a Gears of War 1 tournament with Kelly Kelly taking on 5 year old phenom Ryley. Chat was spamming with chants of Riley, Riley. He worked hard and chainsawed his was to victory, winning himself the t-shirt of his choice.

Sam in chat got to receive a Play N Trade bucket filled with all kinds of swag and a hat signed by our tournament finalists Ryley and Kelly.

Tekken 6 Global Championships (The Aftermath)

During the last weekend’s Global Championship Final… The top 16 players from around the world gathered in Tokyo to find out who is the best worldwide TEKKEN 6 player and we were there to give you all the tournament footage.

The 16 finalists were divided into two groups, eight players for each of the two consoles (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360). In the PS3 Grand Final JDCR (Heihachi) from Korea, who came out from the Losers Bracket, won 2:1/2:0 against Feng played by one of the top Japanese players, Yuu. The second final was a battle between two South Koreans, Nin (Steve) and boradoldol (Baek). This fight was won by Nin, the Tekken Crash series’ commentator. JDCR and Nin will go for a round-the-world trip while Yuu and boradoldol are going to receive home theater sets.

The best player from outside of Asia was Gen1us from France, who came out 3rd in the Playstation 3 tournament.

This event was just one of the many events we will be attending this year and hope you will all come along for the amazing adventures that UFragTV is getting ready to embark on!

UFragTV Streams NAMCO BANDAI Games’ TEKKEN® 6 Global Championship Final Live

From 10 p.m. - 3 a.m. PST on Saturday March 6 (3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Japan local time, Sunday, March 7) the challengers will play down a 16-player bracket, in full 1080i HD Resolution. UFragTV’s broadcast crew and on-air hosts will be there to catch all the action, streaming live to their web site, available across the globe at www.ufrag.tv/.

To celebrate the latest installment of the top-selling fighting video game franchise, three TEKKEN 6 tournaments were held across the world, including invigorating battles in San Francisco, North America; PAL/European regions and Asia. Prizes included cash, life-size game character statues and arcade units. The winners of each tournament received an all-expense paid trip to Tokyo, Japan, to compete on behalf of their respected region. The top four players of each tournament (two for Xbox 360® and two for PlayStation®3) are to meet up for the final showdown on March 7, 2010.

In Joon Hwang, brand manager at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., offers “With its enormous international appeal and ever growing fan base, TEKKEN continues to be one of our most popular video game franchises. The championship finals will take place across a large portion of the day on March 7, 2010 (Japan Local Time) and will give the ultimate bragging rights to two victorious winners, across a double elimination-style tournament. Each round will last 60 seconds and match winners will be determined by a best of three fights. Each fight will be based on winning three out of five rounds. In hopes for an edge, players are allowed to bring and use their own equipment, including fight sticks, after it has been carefully examined by NAMCO BANDAI Games staff. The winners land a trophy and a round-the-world trip, with the runners up winning a trophy and a home theater system.

UFragtv's Future without Eyepartner

UFragTV would like to let everyone know that we will be leaving our current developers Eyepartner in the new year.

As some of you have witnessed recently there have been some concerns with the stability of the site and constant ad placement. We have worked hard to have these problem resolved and features upgraded, but have been given no cooperation to ensure this was accomplished. Unfortunately we had irreconcilable differences that we have been unable to resolve with Eyepartner. For this reason we will be leaving our current development team.

The transition to our new development powerhouse will bring with it a stable CDN network and new streaming technologies. Our new designers are currently working on the new site and have worked with reputable companies like Microsoft, Turner Broadcast, CNN just to name a few.

There are a lot of amazing things coming our way and we hope that you will stick around for all of the exciting changes that will take place in the coming year.

King Of Ironfist Tournament Post-Blog

This past Saturday evening, UFragTV presented the Tekken 6 North American Championship in a special live event. The tournament was held in a boxing ring, complete with a ring bell as 16 players competed in a double elimination tournament to determine the champion. With $6,000 at stake and a trip to Japan on the line, it was all or nothing for the competitors.

Brought to us by the host Rob as well as Renee as the interviewer, the viewers were given a chance to see a beta of our new video player in action, which will be released in the near future.

The event started off with the GGL Online Championship followed by a special hour-long live performance from Crystal Method. Dominating the competition was Jtchinoi, winning the grand prize of $6,000 as well as a trip to Japan to compete in the Japanese tournament.

Making an appearance this weekend was MMA Fighter Josh Barnett, part of a special celebrity exhibition match against Markman. Ironically, both players chose King, resulting in a mirror match. The exhibition match ended in a draw with Markman showing his skills and taking the first match. Coming out strong in the second match, Josh Barnett finished with a Frankensteiner.

The Tekken 6 Grand Final featured MrNaps vs. Chetchetty in 3 out of 5 matches to determine the Tekken 6 North American Champion. After a bit of deciding, MrNaps chose Bryan Fury to take out Chetchetty's choice, Paul Phoenix.

Winning the first game 3-2, Chetchetty had a close match up. Losing his second in a quick 0-3, Chetchetty turned it up a notch to dominate the 3rd match 3-0. Fired up following his performance on the third match of the tournament, Chetchetty found himself being crowned the Tekken 6 North American Champion.
