Update 12-28-09

Posted by Jack | 12/28/2009 02:53:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Hey Gamers,
Hope everybody had an amazing Christmas, and got some stuff to show off to the community when we finish remodeling in early 2010. Remember to keep an eye on our twitter and front page to see any big updates.
Today, some emails were sent out stating that accounts and shows were disabled. We ask that you ignore these. In order to prep for our new site, all the accounts and shows on the old site have been removed. This is just one of the many steps we’ve taken in bringing you the new and improved site. Every day, we’re reaching milestone after milestone of bringing UFragTV back full force. Be sure to keep an eye here, on our blog, and on the twitter to get up to the most up to date updates on the progress.

Thanks, and happy new year,
The UFragTV Staff

UFragtv's Future without Eyepartner

Posted by TLCintheCity | 12/17/2009 12:15:00 PM | | 0 comments »

UFragTV would like to let everyone know that we will be leaving our current developers Eyepartner in the new year.

As some of you have witnessed recently there have been some concerns with the stability of the site and constant ad placement. We have worked hard to have these problem resolved and features upgraded, but have been given no cooperation to ensure this was
accomplished. Unfortunately we had irreconcilable differences that we have been unable to resolve with Eyepartner. For this reason we will be leaving our current development team.

The transition to our new
development powerhouse will bring with it a stable CDN network and new streaming technologies. Our new designers are currently working on the new site and have worked with reputable companies like Microsoft, Turner Broadcast, CNN just to name a few.

There are a lot of amazing things
coming our way and we hope that you will stick around for all of the exciting changes that will take place in the coming year.

King Of Ironfist Tournament Post-Blog

Posted by Dmax4832 | 12/15/2009 03:36:00 PM | | 0 comments »

This past Saturday evening, UFragTV presented the Tekken 6 North American Championship in a special live event. The tournament was held in a boxing ring, complete with a ring bell as 16 players competed in a double elimination tournament to determine the champion. With $6,000 at stake and a trip to Japan on the line, it was all or nothing for the competitors.

Brought to us by the host Rob as well as Renee as the interviewer, the viewers were given a chance to see a beta of our new video player in action, which will be released in the near future.

The event started off with the GGL Online Championship followed by a special hour-long live performance from Crystal Method. Dominating the competition was Jtchinoi, winning the grand prize of $6,000 as well as a trip to Japan to compete in the Japanese tournament.

Making an appearance this weekend was MMA Fighter Josh Barnett, part of a special celebrity exhibition match against Markman. Ironically, both players chose King, resulting in a mirror match. The exhibition match ended in a draw with Markman showing his skills and taking the first match. Coming out strong in the second match, Josh Barnett finished with a Frankensteiner.

The Tekken 6 Grand Final featured MrNaps vs. Chetchetty in 3 out of 5 matches to determine the Tekken 6 North American Champion. After a bit of deciding, MrNaps chose Bryan Fury to take out Chetchetty's choice, Paul Phoenix.

Winning the first game 3-2, Chetchetty had a close match up. Losing his second in a quick 0-3, Chetchetty turned it up a notch to dominate the 3rd match 3-0. Fired up following his performance on the third match of the tournament, Chetchetty found himself being crowned the Tekken 6 North American Champion.

Cutting things short, UFragTV would like to thank everyone who has showed up during this past weekend's event, be sure to keep an eye out for future tournaments and events broadcasted LIVE at http://UFragTV.com

Tekken 6 Launch Event: Huge Success

Posted by TLCintheCity | 10/30/2009 09:44:00 AM | | 0 comments »

Although the event on October 24th started out a little late, our live streaming coverage of the Tekken 6 Launch Party in Southern California was a success with over 2200 views on the channel.

We started our night with a pre-show announcement made by MarkMan from SDTekken and MadCatz that stated if the live stream reached over 500 viewers, a free copy of the game would be given out. Once the show started, we had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the brand manager of Tekken 6 for Bandai Namco. Within forty minutes of the stream going live, it had reached the goal of 500 viewers. The viewers were then told to send an email to UFragTV and a random winner would be chosen. After over 235 emails were received, Cameron White was chosen as the lucky winner of a copy of Tekken 6 for the PS3.

During the event we also ran a trivia question contest to win an official 'Round Two' Street Fighter IV TE Fight Stick! We asked the viewers who the lead producer of Tekken 6 is. With over 250 email responses, Ari "fLoE" Weintraub was the winner with the correct answer of Katsuhiro Harada, so he won the TE Fight Stick for the Xbox 360.

Let's not forget the great tournament action we covered as well. In the grand finals we saw "The Iron Chef" battling "Aris". "Aris" played as "Drangunov" and "The Iron Chef" played as "Feng Wei". During the first match, "The Iron Chef" would win a round and "Aris" would just come back with a win of his own, keeping it tied up the whole match. After tying up four rounds, "Aris" took the 5th round, winning him the first match.

The second match just happened to play out the same way as the first, with "Aris" keeping it tied up and taking the match in the final round. Aris' defeat over The Iron Chef won him an awesome Tekken 6 Bundle from Bandai Namco.

We would like to thank the sponsors and everyone who contributed to a great event:
MadCatz
Namco Bandai
Starbucks
MarkMan

Filthie Rich

UFragTV's Travels to Chicago ComicCon, PAX, TGS, VGXpo, and Big Apple Con

It's been a long time coming, but we've got a huge blog post that will knock your socks off!

For the past several months we've been bringing all of the conventions home to you, over the internet live for all of those who couldn't make it but still wanted to be a part of the action. Not only have we been streaming live coverage of conventions and events, we have been interviewing who YOU the viewer wanted us to interview, asked the questions that YOU wanted us to ask, and have gotten tons of swag for YOU the viewers back home!

Here is a look back at just what we have accomplished on UFragTV in the past few months.

It all started back on August 6th when we arrived at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center for Chicago for Comic-Con 2009. We had a lot of fun with pwndcast.com and talked to some really great people. VIP Day kicked off with a lot of cosplayers and their great costumes.

Once we were into Day One we were off and running! I mean where else but on UFragTV can you watch your hosts Shane and Kelly Kelley get a tattoo live on air at the convention center! Where else but on UFragTV would you get a live performance in our booth by Taylor Dayne and Blackbox!

Alfonso's interview with Doug Jones was one of the highlights of the event. Getting a "bosie" from Doug Jones is something we won't forget anytime soon.

The introduction of "The Butterfest" was very entertaining and he was inducted as an honorary crew member. We were sad to hear he was unable to come out for day 2.

Camden Toy is a great actor and our interview provided us with some great information on his projects.

Here are just some of the wonderful interviews that we had the chance to do:

- Lindsey Weber from Venom Energy Drinks
- Faith Felice from Gamers United
- Jiba Molei Anderson from Illinois Institute of Art
- Jack Killborn (novelist)
- Rob Weiman from Mountaincity Auctions
- The Smoke
- Michael Papajohn
- Froggy's Photo's
- Jake Busey
- Jim Gibbons Associate Editor of Wizard Magazine
- Eric Michael Murascak
- Mark Ombrellaro from TN Games

Once we finished with Comic-Con it was off to the Penny Arcade Expo on September 4-6, 2009 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. With the blimp up and Booth 121 set for action it was time to get going.

J.R. brought us some accidental yet exclusive information from the guys at Funcom.

Becky gave us a great BioShock 2 and Mafia 2 Booth tour which took us "inside the game".

We had a very entertaining interview by Alfonso with the guys at Mythic Entertainment Studios who provided us with some insight on the mentality of a Warhammer player.

Our interview with Chet Faliszek gave us some information on Valve's upcoming game Left 4 Dead 2.

And who can forget Rene the "Bag Lady"? I know a lot of our viewers won't forget her anytime soon!

There were a lot of amazing game developers and we got some great information on what's coming out and you, the viewers, were given the chance to ask the questions you wanted answered.

Here is the list of the great people we interviewed during PAX '09:

- Surrif (Producer on Dead Space Extraction)
- Patrick Fortier (Creative Director of WET)
- Rony Chammas (Product Manager of Dante's Inferno)
- Gunnar Optiks
- Halo ODST Bungie
- Tru Blood Drink
- Ken Chan (Marketing Specialist God of War 3)
- Amy Meyer (Community Manager Uncharted 2)
- Jefferson Doug (Marketing for Heavy Rain)
- David Bull (Marketing for MAG)
- Mark Valledor (Marketing for Little Big Planet)
- Keyr Shah (Marketing for Disney)
- Pandcake Productions
- Gordon VanDyke (Bad Company 2)
- Peregrin Glove
- Mega64
- Amy Brady and Anne Marie (Frag Dolls)
- GayGamer
- PC Lounge
- PMS Clan with special host "Rene" the bag lady
- Coin Op TV

As always there were some great cosplayers that added some whimsy to the event.

I know I won't forget the over 450 MAG codes we gave out during this event and all the great PAX Swag we gave away in various contests on the site.

With over 1000 viewers in attendance the event was a lot of fun!

We would like to also thank our gratious sponsors and booth buddies TN Games.

Our next adventure took us far from home towards Tokyo, Japan for the "Tokyo Game Show".

To say we were out of our comfort zone would be an understatement! It was quite the culture shock but we managed to get some great footage and had the chance to interview some really great people.

With Shane, Tim, Dan, Becky, and Arika in tow we were able to get a chance to talk to Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Avatar the game. Everyone there had a PSP, and I mean everyone. Gaming is a huge part of the culture in Japan, which was made obvious by the staggering attendance at TGS. The cosplayers at Tokyo Game Show were like nothing we've ever seen before. The detail in their wears was just amazing.

We know you've all been waiting for the footage and it will be up shortly so you can see all the amazing stuff we were able to capture while in Tokyo.

Shortly after the jet lag and time change we over we were off to the Pennsylvania Convention Center on October 9th for "VGXpo".

Our frequent friend The Smoke was very entertaining, as always, and provided us with some information on what VGXpo was all about.

We got a glimpse of the great products made by Shocker Toys. I know I want a Mallow so I can doodle all over it.

Seltzer from PMS Clan did a fantastic interview with Jamie Kovac "Fury" from American Galdiators where she flexed her muscles and let everyone on know whose boss.

We got a chance to check out some great products and interview some very interesting people:
- Clayton Price
- Zero Zelda Reorchestrated
- Ground Up Studios
- Nero "Air Asassin's"
- Dominick (president of Slappa)

As like all conventions we've been to the cosplayers were out in full force and was great to see.

Even before the dust had settled on VGXpo we we're on our way to Pier 94 in New York for Big Apple Comicon. Big Apple Comic Con was the craziest event the UFragTV staff has been to yet! We got a chance to talk to some great celebrities and hear about their past, present, and future projects.

Our interview with Brent Spiner is probably the most popular interview from Apple Con, the fans just love it! A little birdy told me that Brent liked taking a ride on Shane's Segway so it sounds like he had as much fun in New York as we did.

We got to talk to Thomas Jane AKA "The Punisher" and it had to be the funniest interview we've aired. He was taking pics of us the entire time we were interviewing him and having Chewbacca behind him just added to the overall craziness.

The NY Jedi were also a big eye catcher at Big Apple Comic Con, we met them once before at Chicago Comic Con and they were really fun to interview.

Day Two provided us with the chance to talk and get to know Billy Dee Williams, all the star wars fans gather in the back were there to get a chance to see the real Lando in person. He was such a cool person so laid back and smooth.

Ernie Hudson, the famous Ghostbusters actor, had the opportunity to answer a lot of interesting questions that were asked by you, the viewers.

Here is the list of the great people we had the opportunity to interview:
- Adam West
- David Hedison "Felix Leiter"
- The Smoke
- John Schnieder "Smallville"
- Linda Hamilton
- Ari Goldman "Choicecollectables"
- Forbidden Planet
- Primo Retro Watercolor Art
- Hector & Keith (Hellsblood Comics)
- Brimestone
- Joe Simon (Co Creator of Captain America)
- Camden Toy
- Nalini Krishan "Barriss Offee"
- John Billingsley
- Eric Acvari
- Micky Dolenz
- Frank Sivero
- Brande Roderick
- Battlestar Cast
- Taylor Dayne
- DualShockers
- Cynthia Scott
- Neil Kaplan (voice actor)
- Chris Knight
- Christian Serratos (Twilight)
- Jeremy Bulloch
- Jerome Blake
- Kwame geekmode
- Lou Ferrigno
- Mikayla Love Foundation
- Rupert (Survivor)
- Thomas Jane
- James Keenan
- Gil Gerard & Erin Gray
- Eric Maruscak
- Wild Turkey the gxl
- Sarah Martinez (Interrobangstudios)
- Arie Kaplan
- Kathy Najimy
- Keith Aram
- Kate Mulgrew
-Nichelle Nichols

BetterThenBeta and UFragTV Get Gamers into MAG Beta

Posted by John Marchetti | 9/18/2009 09:28:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Friday night was a joyous night for PS3 owners who happened upon UFragTV.com and tuned into the Better Then Beta Podcast. The guys over at Better Then Beta had gotten their hands on some highly sought after MAG beta codes for the beta going on right now of the upcoming PS3 exclusive shooter.

This event followed a site-wide and internet-wide giveaway of MAG beta codes that occurred during our live coverage of PAX 09, where UFragTV received over 400 MAG beta codes and promptly started giving them out to our fans in chat, over Twitter, over Facebook, and into random gaming forums spread throughout the internet.

All of this is thanks to a staff of gamers who care about their community and a site that is devoted to gamers. Because of this, guys like Better Then Beta can give stuff away to their fans and help spread the wealth amongst the gamers.

UFragTV Site and Server Maintenance

Posted by Jack | 8/26/2009 06:21:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Hey Gamers,

UFragTV will be down periodically throughout the rest of the week and possibly the weekend as we do some maintenance and make our big move to the CDN. This will set up everything for some updates that we're planning to establish in the near future, and help with stability of UFrag if anything were to come up.

We ask that you please be patient as things might be a little buggy as this move goes down.

If you have any inquiries, don't be afraid to contact a staff member.

Thanks,
UFragTV Staff

Chat Updated to v0.3

Posted by John Marchetti | 6/10/2009 05:16:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Chat now has clear chat and a message limit, overall increasing site performance.

We have recently updated the chat system to now include a "Clear Chat" feature for individual users. This means that anyone can now clear the chat on the room they are in JUST FOR THEMSELVES. So it won't clear the chat for everyone, just you.

The chat system also has a log limit that will only hold up to 60 messages before auto clearing the oldest one to keep the 60 message limit in check.

These two updates will ensure a major decrease of server/browser load which will in-turn increase performance on the server/user end. These updates are just to hold the temporary chat system over till we are finished with our actual chat system, Chat v1.0

Scheduled Downtime: Thursday, June 11

Posted by John Marchetti | 6/10/2009 05:07:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Due to an important server update, we have scheduled to perform maintenance on Thursday 11th June around 01:00 AM Central Time with a maximum of 1 hour down time.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this update.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the update to the site went live this am, and we have noticed several small issues we will be fixing. Please be patient with us as we work on fixing these issues so we can continue to roll out more updates to your site!

Just as a reminder, we are still in open beta and this is bound to happen from time to time as we prepare the site to leave open beta. Thank you again for your continued understanding and patience.

As was previously mentioned on the UfragTV forums, the site will be down Tuesday, May 12th between 2:30am and 11am ET. The reason for this is that there will be some underlying system updates plus a few new features. Please bare with us while the devs update and expect the site back up as soon as possible on Tuesday.

LAGtv breaks in UFragTV with Kotaku!

Posted by UFragTV | 3/18/2009 05:28:00 AM |

Well we knew it would happen, we finally got our doors kicked in and our servers took a test! LAGtv during tonight's show interviewed Brian Crecente from the gaming media giant Kotaku! The crew over at LAGtv did a fantastic job and brought in over 200,000 views at the time of this post. They also managed to squeeze into one single chat room over 520 chatters at one time. Again the interview was fantastic, the servers and the site worked flawlessly, and all and all a great start for UFragtv and the gaming world in general! Congrats LAGtv, and thanks to Brian for doing the interview I for one know the staff at UFragtv loved it!
